Vehicle Extrication Drill at Lincroft First Aid
The members of the Lincroft First Aid & Rescue Squad held a vehicle extrication drill was on Monday April18, 2016. Over the course of four hours, new members were instructed in the use of the rescue tools and techniques to extricated people entrapped in vehicles after crashes. During the initial evolutions, new members rotated through the following training stations: Hurst hydraulic spreaders and cutters, pneumatic tools, hand power tools, and stabilization. During the final evolution, the new members were challenged with a simulated accident involving an overturned vehicle which forced members put to use all the skills they practiced earlier evolutions in order to successful extricate three simulated victims. Despite the hard work, all the members enjoyed the experience.
